A SHOT AT RANDOM THOUGHTS....

Why can't candy be good for you? My favorite line from the show "Elf" is when they ask him if he likes syrup and he says, "Does syrup have sugar in it?"...... "then YES" That descibes me perfectly.>

Why does it take like 3 months to get a couple of pounds off, but you take a week off from working out and you gain them back just like that!

WHY is it snowing in April!!! I'm so ready for the sun!!

I love having fun!!

I love evening time around 8:30 pm when I've put my kids to bed and I'm no longer on "mom" duty and I can sit on the couch and snuggle up with Steve and watch whatever show we've DVR'd.

I drove Linden's carpool to school today and as they got out I apologized that I hadn't even brushed my hair, the response I got was "Oh, that's ok, my mom always looks like that too". I drove away realizing that I'M A MOM, they don't think I'm cool!!

I love to laugh at my husbands jokes. He is the funniest person I know.

I know that I joined Kappa Kappa Gamma so that I could meet Steve. My sorority was across the street from the Kappa Sigs and that's how we met.

When I was in 7th grade I met Bryce Doman and fell madly in love. I will never ever think that the love my kids feel for a boy is just a crush, I think there are many different kinds of love. I really loved him from 7th - 11th grade!!! With the following boys in between...

In 8th grade I loved Brad Lortsher and I would sit outside the ward house "reading" or whatever, until he'd come out. I remember flirting with him when he'd pass the sacrament. And I remember walking around with him on fast sundays to all the houses to get the donations.

In 9th grade I had a list of pros and cons between liking Jason Ungritch or Ricky Bently, niether of them were fighting over me as a girlfriend, but I still had to decide which one I liked more.

In 9th/10th grade I loved Ronnie Penrose. I remember going to his house and listening to Pink Floyd in his bedroom and just wishing he'd want to make out with me. Never happened.

In 11th grade I dated Jim Sheets. He was cute and fun. He got pretty frustrated with me though because of my ongoing crush on Bryce Doman!! Jim was the first boy I french kissed and it was so gross. He ran his tounge along my gums! Yuck! (sorry to Jim if he ever hears I said that)

The summer before my senior year I started to like Rob Barnes. After some flirting and some cute treats and poems left in his car after football practices I convinced him that he wanted a girldfriend his senior year. I may not have been kissed until I was 17, but I made up for it my senior year!! We'd make out whenever we possible could. I remember sluffing 6th period and going to the SBO room and making out, then coming out one at a time so it didn't look to "obvious". (I think my messed up hair gave me away though)

I met my cute Steve at a fraternity party and made out with him that very night.

We got married the very next year. N0vember 30th, 1990.

I believe in karma.

I believe in fate. I think things happen for a reason.

I love to work out. I love the way it makes me feel. When I feel good about my body I feel good about my life. It's hard to realize that at points where I'm not happy with my body. But when I do feel good I realize how much stress it takes away.

I LOVE country music. Every siingle song has a meaning. I love Steve for introducing me to it.

I think I'm the best driver on the road and call everyone else idiots and wish they'd get out of my way.

If there are clouds out, it is cold and you need a sweatshirt, even if it's the middle of summer.

I love being a mom and hope every day that I'm doing an ok job at raising my kids.

I love Steve so much for working so hard for us to have our home and cars and clothes and food and life. He's the best.

I am an extreme person. Things are either REALLY good or REALLY bad. I'm either FREEzING cold, or BURNING hot.

My 20 year reunion is coming and I'm so excited to see people

I am waiting for the "winged" out hair do to come back You know, the hair that wings out at the ears. Man, I loved that look......

I wish my wedding would have been funner. It was a really boring mormon wedding. (I wouldn't want mom to think I didn't appreciate it though, she made it wonderful!)

I remember when I found out about Ryan not having a right hand, that I was glad she would have her left hand to put her wedding ring on.

I love renting movies with Steve and just staying home and watching a show.

I hate admitting that I'm getting old, but I am.

When I look in the mirror I still see the "young" me. I pretend like there are no wrinkles, so if you could do the same that would be great.

I love my mom and dad so much and can't imagine not having them in my life.

I'm thankful for my brothers and sisters and their spouses. I've got a great family.

I'm thankful for the HERD and the influence they've had on my life.

I'm thankful for the Christenson's, they are just a part of our family.

I love going to Vegas and just laying out and not having anything that I HAVE to do.

I think I'm a bit rebelious. I've always like being the one that says just a little too much about sex with my friend from high school. It brings me joy to hear "Oh, Hammer".

I love that I can be totally myself with my family and they accept me for who I am.

I am trying to find my "place" in the church. There are some things that I struggle with, but not enough to not go. I'm getting to a place where I'm happy with who I am, and then seeing where it fits into the mormon church.

I started the random thoughts thinking I wouldn't be able to think of anything, and have now taken too much time.....

GOODBYE!!!

Teaching Again!!!

It has been exactly 5 months since I've taught a class, and this week I started teaching again!! I have to admit, I was a bit nervous, but decided not to let it overwhelm me. I decided if I'm not having fun doing it, I shouldn' do it. So I went in there, and had fun!! On Monday nights I'm teaching Kickboxing....

On Wednsday night we get to do step....
(couldn't pass up this picture with the 80's outfits!!)

And on Thursdays we'll be doing bodsculpt. That is one of my main goals right now is to get this body of mine some definition again!! I need my arms to look like the picture below. When they do, I'll be able to just stick a picture of myself on here instead of having to look for some on google!!

I am excited to be teaching again and getting back into that routine. It has felt normal just jumping right back into it, but still there's that bit of self doubt that sneaks in. I feel like that's a good thing though, it makes me want to be better and not just settle.

Something I love too, is taking classes and not just teaching. It is so great to go to class and not have to think and not have to worry about not having enough time, or having too much time. Just to work out.

I go through different phases of "love" with working out. Sometimes I love working out because it's just my own time away from kids and life. Sometimes I love working out because it's a chance to get my body back. Sometimes I love working out because of the results afterwards because during the work out it can really suck!!! Overall I just love the way I feel during and after. Like I've done something good for myself.

HAPPY EASTER....

What a great day!!! It was so beautiful and so much fun to be together as a family. Steve and I took the kids and dogs to the park and we were just standing there watching them fly kites, swing on the swings, going down the slides, and couldn't believe that 18 years ago we were just dating............. and here we are with 5 kids and two dogs!! We are very blessed and very thankful to be living this life.

If I were good on the computer I would upload a country song right now to be playing. It's a song by Trace Adkins and also sung by Toby Keith called "Youre gonna miss this." It talks about people living their lives, but always looking ahead to the next thing, and he says, "You're gonna miss this, you're gonna want this back." We try to keep that in mind when the kids are fighting!!!

THE CUTEST FIVE NEWTON KIDS EVER!!!!

RYAN HOPE WITH HER EASTER BASKET...... NOT REALLY SURE WHAT ALL THE FUSS IS ABOUT, SHE JUST LIKES PLAYING WITH THE BUCKET AND GETTING THE GRASS EVERYWHERE!!

I THINK BRADEN WAS THE MOST EXCITED FOR EASTER THIS YEAR. HE DID A COUNTDOWN ALL WEEK. IT WAS FUN TO WATCH HIM RUN AROUND LOOKING FOR EGGS....

BRANDON WAS EXCITED TOO. HE COULDN'T WAIT TO GO TO SLEEP SO THAT HE COULD SEE WHAT THE EASTER BUNNY WAS GOING TO BRING!

MY CAMRYN IS GROWING UP. BEFORE SHE WENT TO BED SHE SAID, "IT'S REALLY PRETTY WEIRD TO THINK OF A BIG BUNNY HOPPING INTO YOUR HOME AND HIDING EGGS, BUT WHATEVER."

AND OUR TEENAGER. SHE'S THE BEST GIRL EVER. SHE GOT THE THIRD BOOK IN THE "UGLIES" SERIES. AND ALSO A GIFT CARD TO HOLLISTER. PRETTY COOL EATER BUNNY!!

Hope everyone had a great Easter!! We love you!!

FASHION...

When it comes to fashion, and what's "in", I have to admit, I'm "out"!! I swear, the only logos that I recognize are the following....

I am completely serious when I say that the most I am willing to spend on a pair of jeans is $25-$30. I have figured out that about every 5 to 6 years I give in and spend $60-$80 on one pair of jeans and tears are usually involved.

I went shopping with my friend Stacey this weekend. (it always amazes me that we are such good friends because we are so opposite in so many ways!!) When she said she was coming to Salt Lake to shop I told her I wanted to come with her. She then informed me that we would not be entering a WalMart, Target or Old Navy during this shopping trip. (By the way, that is the extent of my shopping, low end is Walmart, middle Target, and when I'm feeling wild and crazy, I'll go into Old Navy. I usually end up at the clearance rack in all 3 stores. Oh my gosh, pitiful!!)

Anyways, I told her I was up to the challenge and we ended up going to this store...

Ya, did you know that they have jeans there that cost $135!!! And they have t-shirts that cost $30, for a T-SHIRT!! I had to take a deep breath and just go with the flow. I tried on a million pairs of jeans (mostly because my fashion guru, Stacey, kept bringing me more to try on)

When I went to check out I am serious I had to walk away and have Stacey sign for it so I wouldn't have to see the total. I knew it would ruin my evening if I knew!! People there were laughing at me and the sales lady said, "thanks for coming, see you in a few years".

I am proud to say that I bought myself a pair of Silver Jeans (for those of you who may be like me and not into fashion, I am not referring to the color of the jean when I say silver, it's the brand. ha-ha) And a pair of BKE capris, along with a t-shirt that was yes, $30!!! (my poor kids won't be eating this week, I just spent our food money)

Moral of the story, when I wear a red t-shirt that says Hurley or something like that on it, and have on some cute jeans or capris, please tell me it's so awesome and I look like a million bucks. Because in my mind, that's how much I spent that day!!!!

LOST BIKE!!!!

So, for Braden's birthday he got this Awesome and Expensive BMX dirt bike. He was so excited, and we were so excited to give it to him!!

We now have a sign posted around the neighborhood with this picture of my darling little boy and his LOST BIKE!!!!

It seriouslly is gone. He left it in front of our house, and I guess someone must have taken it. I find myself standing out in the front yard thinking it's going to just show up, like it's a lost dog or something. What a bummer!! We are upset with him for leaving it out, and just plain upset that it's gone!!!

My only hope is that it was someone less fortunate that needed to take it and there's a cute little boy riding it around right now thinking he has the coolest parents ever. (even though they're dirty rotten thieves!!)

Quick Post......

I can't believe this baby is so small and fits in the dryer! I can't believe I laughed when my girls put her in there, that's dangerous!! Not like they closed the door or anything, but still!!

Braden idolizes Brandon!! It is so cute to watch.

I had more to say, but no time, so I'm going to push Publish Post now!!
