FASHION...

When it comes to fashion, and what's "in", I have to admit, I'm "out"!! I swear, the only logos that I recognize are the following....

I am completely serious when I say that the most I am willing to spend on a pair of jeans is $25-$30. I have figured out that about every 5 to 6 years I give in and spend $60-$80 on one pair of jeans and tears are usually involved.

I went shopping with my friend Stacey this weekend. (it always amazes me that we are such good friends because we are so opposite in so many ways!!) When she said she was coming to Salt Lake to shop I told her I wanted to come with her. She then informed me that we would not be entering a WalMart, Target or Old Navy during this shopping trip. (By the way, that is the extent of my shopping, low end is Walmart, middle Target, and when I'm feeling wild and crazy, I'll go into Old Navy. I usually end up at the clearance rack in all 3 stores. Oh my gosh, pitiful!!)

Anyways, I told her I was up to the challenge and we ended up going to this store...

Ya, did you know that they have jeans there that cost $135!!! And they have t-shirts that cost $30, for a T-SHIRT!! I had to take a deep breath and just go with the flow. I tried on a million pairs of jeans (mostly because my fashion guru, Stacey, kept bringing me more to try on)

When I went to check out I am serious I had to walk away and have Stacey sign for it so I wouldn't have to see the total. I knew it would ruin my evening if I knew!! People there were laughing at me and the sales lady said, "thanks for coming, see you in a few years".

I am proud to say that I bought myself a pair of Silver Jeans (for those of you who may be like me and not into fashion, I am not referring to the color of the jean when I say silver, it's the brand. ha-ha) And a pair of BKE capris, along with a t-shirt that was yes, $30!!! (my poor kids won't be eating this week, I just spent our food money)

Moral of the story, when I wear a red t-shirt that says Hurley or something like that on it, and have on some cute jeans or capris, please tell me it's so awesome and I look like a million bucks. Because in my mind, that's how much I spent that day!!!!

Hi Kristen,
Remember me? Jenn, from Texas...I love catching up with you on your blog...I have been shopping with Stacey...did she forget to tell you the "Pay a little with cash, a little with check and a little with credit, so that there isn't one big payment" Plan. She passed that one down to me and it truly works wonders!

Take a picture for the blog when you wear your new clothes. I wish I wouldn't have been there to see it.

You must post a picture in your new outfit! I love the BKE jeans, but they are kind of an investment!

ps. I am so sore from my training with the tougher than tough Leisa!

It's sounds like me and you should go shopping. I am the same way about jeans. If I spend $50 on a pair, I am totally splurging!!! I can't even bring myself to buy at those jean parties where the jeans are like 1/2 off and their still $80. Good for you for splurging a little bit. We all need that once in a while. When you've got a big family like me and you, we don't have the extra funds to spend on ourselves, it's usually on our kids!!! That's life and that's what being a mom is all about. We miss you guys.

I am just like you...give me Target, Walmart, and Old Navy and I can dress my entire family. But, I do LOVE Buckle jeans. I buy a pair or two every 3-5 years...you know, when I need a different size! Good purchase though. Those jeans last forever.

I am right there with you Kristen, but it is good to get something really good for yourself sometimes. So your kids miss a few meals they will live.

We are moving back to Salt Lake this summer.
