BLACK SATURDAY...

Ok, so I blogged about our Black Friday shopping. Now unfortunately I must blog about Black Saturday. Yes, black is the color I use to describe any day that "the team that must not be named" beats the U!!!

First let me start with our pre-game fun!! My awesome husband built this 10 ft U and put it on our deck with lights. You can seriouslly see it from so far away!! I love him so much!!!

Do you see how big this thing is? It's as big as our back window people!! We love the U!!!!

Some U of U pancakes to fill us up before the big game...

It was the most beautiful day for the game!! We drove to the game with Craig and Whit and blasted "I am a Utah Man Sir" for everyone to hear!! A little trash talk took place while at the game. When the other team would yell "Go Cougars", I couldn't help but yell out "Go Loosers". They didn't like it that much, not sure why?

Look at those HOT U of U fans!! Nice sun glasses baby!!

We had so much fun!!

Craig bought us all U of U wrist bands!

The girls, just chillin' at the ball game...

When the blue fans did their little drum banging thing to the star wars music, I officially knew I need to do all I can do to get to heaven , because that is what hell must be like....

The real hell was when the score was Utes 10, the other team 9, with a minute and a half to go. 4th down and 18, and the U let that stupid blue jersey run right by them and grab that ball. I could have died!!
SO, NOW WE WAIT 364 MORE DAYS, TO REDEEM OURSELVES AND KICK SOME BLUE BUTT!!

BLACK FRIDAY!!!!!

So, call us crazy, but the tradition continues of waking up at 4:00 am and heading to Walmart which opens at 5:00 am!! Due to the cold weather, this year we skipped the waiting in line part of the action and decided to just get there right at 5:00 and head in after all the craziness!!

Die hard shoppers in order of appearance.... Camryn, Codye, Linden, Abi, Brammy, Chelle, Kristen and baby Ryan all bundled up!!

After an hour, and about $100 each person later... Off to Target, to stand in THE longest lines ever!! And some of us ended buying stuff that's not even on sale. Just thought it would be great to grab a loaf of bread at 6 am!!

Me and my girls, what troopers waking up at 4 in the morning!! We had fun together...

And to finish it all off, a trip to Burger King where the best mom ever pays for a little nourishment after a long morning of shopping!!

Until next year girls!! I literally don't think I'll set my alarm clock for 4 a.m. again until then!!

WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY?

I have to start out by saying I had a great day at church today. I've been slacking a bit lately in the testimony area and Relief Society today was exactly what i needed. The teacher got up and asked a simple question... What things make you happy? What are those simple thiings in life, that just make it worthwhile. A lot of answers were about kids and how much frustration they can bring, but at the same time, such joy. One sweet girl in our ward lost her 3 year old boy just a few months ago and she told us about a song she'd sing with him and that's how she gets through. There are so many small things that make us happy that we need to take advantage of.

I raised my hand and described my dad in this costume last year and how it is now on my fridge and has been for a year. It just makes me happy. I love my dad!!!

NEWTON HALLOWEEN TRADITION...

So, Steve and I are not into scary movies (action, romance, occasional porn) but NOT scary movies!! So each year on Halloween night, we watch a couple of scary shows! It's awful and bloody and gross, but so much fun. Our friends the Ellet's (that used to live here, but moved to North Carolina) sent us this show to watch. Thank you Ellet's for hooking us up with this scary show!!

We were sitting there watching it and just wondering when it was going to get scary. And then Holy Crap! I screamed so loud and totally woke up the baby when the creepy guys showed up, and then there was the blood and guts, and there I was with the blanket pulled up to my face so I could cover my eyes when needed. Once again our evening and annual event was a success!!
