PINEWOOD DERBY WINNERS!!!

About a month and a half ago Brandon came home from scouts with a plastic bag that had a wooden block and 4 wheels in it. From there, he and his dad went CRAZY working on a prize winning car for the PineWood Derby!!!

They used saws, sand paper, filed down wheels and bearings and used graphite, and sanded and sanded, and painted RED, and put on the winning U sticker, and whoooala......

1st place at the PineWood Derby!!!!

He took 1st place in every single race he was in!!! It gave me such pleasure to beat any car that had a Y on it!! We've got a lot of Y fans in our ward, so once again, the UTES are on top!!!

EASTER OUTFITS....

Like I said, since we were at the cabin for Easter we didn't get to dress up. So this past Sunday we went through the picture torture!!! My cute kids really did try to cooperate, but I still didn't get exactly what I was looking for. Anyway, look at these cute darling kids of mine!!

Having a little fun....

Brothers to the end.....

You'd think the teenager would try to make it easy for pictures.... NO, Linden thought she was sooooooo funny because she would not smile for me!!

I finally got a cute one!!

And here are the rest of the kids...
CAMRYN
BRANDON
BRADEN
RYAN

Our Ryan LOVES jumping on the tramp. And she's actually really good at it. Here's a little shot of her.... Man, I love that girl so much!!

GREAT GRANDMA AND GRANDPA HAMMER....

My Camryn has been asking for literally over a year to go and visit Grandma and Grandpa Hammer's grave. We finally coordinated with Bapa and went. It was a great experience. We got there and the kids were fascinated by the graves and figuring out how old people were when they passed away. It was cute to talk to them about G & G being in a better place and how once Grandpa died, Grandma just had to follow to be with him.

As the kids ran and looked at graves, I glanced over at my cute dad as he stood in front of the grave. I love my dad so much! Life is too short and I want him to know how much he means to me!! Thanks dad for all you do!

EASTER AT THE CABIN.....

So, this year we were at the cabin up Provo canyon. Which means, no pictures of my cute kids all dressed up in Easter Sunday clothes. (that will take place this next Sunday, wish me luck)

In the meantime, here are the Easter festivities that took place......

First: What great trip to the cabin doesn't start off with a MONSTER party!!!! Yes, we all had a Monster, it was hilarious and crazy!!!

Look at those Monsters drinking Monsters!!

Now on to decorating eggs, so fun....>
Woo Hoo, Easter morning, not a lot of places for that Easter bunny to hide eggs and baskets! But somehow it all worked out!!
Cute Camy with her basket.
Brandon climbing all over to find eggs...

Our cute Linden, enjoying Easter with the family. She's such a great daughter!!

Wow, Braden found tons!

Ry-Ry wasn't quite sure what all the fuss was about, but man she LOVED the candy!!

And of course, the BUNNY CAKE!!!!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!

NEWTON SKI DAY...

I grew up skiing, and had a good time doing it, but as I got older realized, I really don't like being COLD!!! So, my wonderful sweet husband has taught each of our kids starting at 4 years old, how to ski.

Imagine those Sautrdays when I load up all the kids with Steve and they leave for the slopes, "Have fun!!" I say, and then I spend the day with Ryan in my warm home...

Well, this past Saturday I followed through on a promise to my kids that I would go skiing with them. We took Ryan to Brammy and Bapa's house, and we headed to Snowbird!!! It really was a great thing to see my kids skiing and having such a great time. I love Steve so much for giving this gift to our kids!!

Me and my honey getting ready for the big day...

The kids all had skis on and sat and waited for me. They had quite a laugh just watching me try to walk around in my ski boots. Ha-Ha!!

Awesome picutre, and so deserving for Steve to have a great picture with his kids skiing.

And a shot with mom, we really had a fun time.

Lunch time, yeah!!

It all began with a flirt and a hit!!!

If I got a calendar out I could find the exact day I met Steve. It was a weekend in September 1989. I went to a U of U football game with some Kappas. I had fun running around flirting and not paying one bit of attention to the game. After the game (that I'm sure the U won because come on, it's the U) I was walking back to the Kappa house with a friend and she fell and got hurt so she went home. I was left with the option of going to my car and going home, or walking to the Kappa house alone and hanging out. THIS is where I believe fate takes over. I walked by myself over to the Kappa Sig house and went in to this party alone.

That same night Steve had just broken up with his girlfriend and had come back from the game to the Kappa Sig house. (I'm sure to find a quick scam!!)

I remember exactly where we were standing in the Kappa Sig house. A group of people were just talking and laughing and Steve said something funny (imagine that). I remember hitting him in the arm when he said it, and then before I knew it, he had hit me back! Boys don't hit girls!!! But this boy did! We ended up laughing and dancing at the Kappa Sig house. Then he took me to the "U" on the hill. I told him over and over I wasn't going to kiss him, but man, he knows how to work it! We kissed on the U, and then in the car in a park until we were busted by the cops!!

Sorry, I got lost in the past there for a minute. I just found these pictures of the two of us and fell in love all over again......

This is my favorite picture of Steve and I. We went to a Kappa Sig formal and he gave me a watch that night. We jumped in a hot tub in clothes, and just laughed and had so much fun. I totally fell in love!!

Cute couple at a Greek thing. I seriouslly just love him!

Awesome memories of Lake Powell.
Hard to believe that it all started with a couple of kids falling in love and here we are with 5 kids and an awesome life!!!

SIX THINGS I KNOW FOR SURE....

Life can be confusing and crazy and hectic. But the six things I know for sure beyond a shadow of a doubt are the following.....

#1 - I LOVE THIS MAN!!! I love how hard he works to support our family, I love the time and love and advice he gives to each of our children, I love knowing that at the end of the day we'll put the kids to bed, bake our cookies and sit down on the couch together to watch a show!!

#2 - I LOVE THIS GIRL.... Linden Ann Newton. She is a bright and wonderful daughter. I love laughing with her, listening to her stories. Driving her to school in the morning and listening to "the morning zoo", looking at her drawings and being amazed!!! I just love her!

#3 - I LOVE THIS GIRL.... Camryn Nichole Newton. What a spunky, fun, loving girl. She brings a spark to our home. I love how much she looks up to Linden and the friendship that they have. I love giving her hugs and loves. She needs lots of love and I hope I can always give her enough!!
#4 and #5 - I LOVE MY BOYS!!! Brandon Steven and Braden Lloyd Newton. Look at these BMX boys!! They are so much fun to watch as they work so hard racing around the track. I love that they keep on trying to do better each time. I love Brandon and his LEGO world. Always asking what he should build next. And Braden boy playing his video games. And how much they love little Ryan. They are sooooo wonderful with her!!
#6 - I LOVE THIS GIRL..... Ryan Hope Newton. Seriouslly, need I say more? Her chatter chatter walking around the house like she knows exactly what she's talking about. Playing with her baby doll giving it loves. Giving us all kisses goodnight. The love she brings into this home is amazing, she was meant to be the caboose of this family!!
