"Home Grown" Watermelon...

So, about a month or so ago the boys were eating a watermelon and Steve noticed they were saving all the seeds in a baggie. He asked what they were doing and of course they were saving the seeds to go and plant in the back yard. Who doesn't want a watermelon patch in their own back yard!!

Steve took the boys outside and they planted the seeds together and put little colored sticks where they planted them to watch the progress. Eventually some green stuff started growing, watermelon or weeds, who knows......

Last week when I went to the grocery store, I bought a watermelon, snuck home and put it out in the watermelon patch....
The boys were SOOOOOO excited when they saw that watermelon. Steve and I were laughing so hard. Who knew that watermelons just POP out of the ground like that, not even connected to a vine!!
Nothing like enjoying watermelon you've grown yourself!! I love my boys!!

That is so freakin' awesome. I'm gonna go plant my last Hershey's Kiss right now (will you come up and make a bag of Hershey's Kisses come out of the ground?) I could use that today. : )

That is sooo inventive. Maybe I need to buy tomatoes and corn for what lacks in my garden... ugh.
What a great mom you are? I can totally picture you and Steve laughing in the background too!
I'm all alone and had a laugh out loud moment with no one to share it with!!!

I was on the computer today googling some of my friends blogs from high school and googled your name and up popped your blog! How cute and fun to read a little bit about you and your family. Everyone is getting so big. I can't believe how old Linden looks. Camryn has grown so much too. The baby is darling as well. The boys remind me of my boys. Always getting into mischief. Well the new fad up here in Idaho is everyone is starting their own blogs as well. Mine is www.emilydevries.typepad.com.

Hopefully we can keep in touch a little bit more!
